Record Rack has been in business since 1957! We are a small independent store located in Houston, Texas. Record Rack is decidedly weird and extremely un corporate in every way possible. Our shop specializes in 12" singles, CD singles, Full length CD's in mostly Dance and Alternative music. We carry lots of Imports!!!

Our selection is very eclectic and cutting edge in most cases. We like to have the new and developing music from the UK and all over Europe as soon as they come out. Sorry but we do NOT carry Metal, Jazz, Punk Rock, 7 inches, or International. Record Rack is a direct importer so we have them first.

Record Rack carries a large selection of band posters and T-shirts, as well as 1000's of stickers.

We buy used 12" singles and Cd's in good condition.

Record Rack supplies music to the top Disc Jockeys and Clubs all over Texas and the Country. Clubs buy from us for Mexico, Canada and the Caribbean and elsewhere.

We have an expert staff knowledgeable in music so you can get what you want NOW! We can suggest things you might like by knowing what type of music you want. We can help you as much or as little as you like. Record Rack has listening stations so you can preview any CD before you buy. We have turntables where the new releases are played for DJ's.

Record Rack has hosted in store autograph signings for artists as diverse as Morrissey, Ministry, and even the Village People!!! Owner Bruce Godwin is also the Concert Director for Numbers Nightclub in Houston so many of the artists in town for a show stop by the store for a visit or to shop while on tour. We have sold music to Radoihead, Marianne Faithfull, Jean Michelle Jarre, and assorted super freaks from around the world. See our picture page for some of the cool pics.
